Slovenian School

 

Škofijska gimnazija Vipava is a Catholic grammar school. It has about 300 students between 15 and 19 years of age who have successfully finished elementary school and who intend to continue their study at the University. The school programme in four years includes the following subjects: Slovene, Maths, English, Italian or German, History, Physical Education, Latin, Music and Art, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Sociology, Psychology, Phylosophy, Religion and Culture and Computer Science. The educational programme lasts 4 years and finishes with Matura exams (General grammar school leaving external examination). School offers different extra-curricular activities and voluntary social work. It is located in a small town Vipava in Vipava valley. Close to the school there is also a students’ hall of residence.

 

Škofijska gimnazija Vipava has already participated in the Europeans for Peace programme:

 

2014 – 2015: Life stories behind history. German and Slovenian youth research on forced labour.

 

2015 – 2016: Facing discrimination. German and Slovenian youth research how different people from both countries resisted/faced discrimination in the Nazi period.

German School

The Berufskolleg Tecklenburger Land in Ibbenbüren is a vocational college which offers professional training in industrial, craft and social fields fpr 2,300 full- and part-time students who are taught by 110 teachers.

One of our college's vocational foci is education and care. Students of this project will later also work in the area of social care, nursing and caring for people with special needs.

The town of Ibbenbüren is located in the North Rhine-Westphalia between Osnabrueck and the Dutch border. Ite has a population of 52,914.

Besides an anthracite mine and attached power plant, there is also a broad selection of small and medium-sized industrial companies and craft enterprises, which provide jobs and apprenticeships in many different professions.

Due to the rural location of the college in the middle of an agricultural enviroment many students come from all over the region to attend classes.

To the south of Ibbenbüren the wooded hills of the Teutoburg Forest with their natural beauty offer locals and tourists alike a wide variety of outdoor activities.
